The Jumping Spider

Image result for the jumping spider
The Menemerus Semilimbatus, also known as the ‘jumping spider’ (Salticidae), has one of the best vision among invertebrates and uses it in courtship, hunting, and navigation. Though it normally moves quietly and fairly slowly, most species are capable of very agile jumps, notably when hunting, but sometimes in response to sudden threats. Jumping spiders are generally recognized by their eye pattern. All jumping spiders have four pairs of eyes with one pair being their particularly large anterior median eyes. Salticids hunt diurnally as a rule, which is consistent with their highly developed visual system.
Some Salticidae specialise in particular classes of prey. Ants comprise one such class. Other prey items include flies.
The Menemerus Semilimbatus is usually found on walls, buildings and rocks.
